AIA Church Sport Movement — Phase 2: Post-World Cup Integration

MissionInvest USA

This mission is to use sport as a strategic tool to give young people the opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ, grow in faith and character, and take action to positively impact others. For complete mission field details, please visit: https://mission-invest.org/project/aia-church-sport-movement/

The Calling

The 2026 FIFA World Cup provided a synchronized global window for churches to engage their immediate, unreached communities through sport. Following the tournament, the operational requirement shifts from initial outreach to lasting discipleship. Large populations of young people engaged during the event require structured integration into local congregations. Athletes in Action is now executing the critical second phase of its 2026 strategy: deploying follow-up training, coaching, and implementation support to the 5,000 local leaders mobilized globally. This infrastructure ensures that neighborhood athletics transitions from a temporary event into a permanent engine for theological formation.

Voices from the Field

"For many years we have played sports in our community through activities organized by the church. We are on the field every week and really enjoy playing with other teenagers. During these activities, the church’s sports leaders regularly share Bible stories and personal testimonies. Over time, my brother and I began thinking and talking more about these stories. This year, we decided by God’s grace to become followers of Christ." — Teenager from the neighborhood, participating in a local Church Sport Movement

Your Impact

The first CHF 3,000 sustains the Agape Collection — the craft, the platform, the infrastructure of stewardship. Every CHF beyond that threshold travels directly to MissionInvest USA to fund the World Cup follow-up deployment. Because project staff raise their own salaries independently, 100% of this funding is directed toward operational rollout. At a starting bid of CHF 4,500, one complete cohort of 100 sports ministry volunteers is supported for long-term implementation on the spot. Each additional CHF 1,500 above that funds another cohort of 100 volunteers — immediately, measurably, irreversibly.
