Mission Field Dossier
Casa Elohim — São Paulo, Brazil
Associação Brasileira Beneficente Aslan (ABBA)
In São Paulo, Brazil, thousands of minors face removal from their families by the Child and Youth Court due to violence, neglect, and severe abuse. For children who cannot safely return home, Casa Elohim operates as a 24-hour institutional shelter providing physical protection, structure, and trauma recovery. This auction lot directly resources Casa Elohim’s residential operations in southern São Paulo. Under the supervision of dedicated house parents and social workers, children receive daily sustenance, medical care, educational support, and professional casework aimed at family reunification or adoption. Every Swiss franc allocated to the field translates into tangible daily care and Christian refuge for São Paulo's most vulnerable youth.
The Calling
n the sprawling urban expanse of São Paulo, thousands of children and adolescents are removed from their homes each year by the judicial system due to domestic violence, abandonment, and severe violations of basic rights. For minors aged 0 to 17 who can neither remain in their birth homes nor immediately enter substitute adoption, the Child and Youth Court requires secure, residential protection. Casa Elohim operates as an institutional shelter — a 24-hour home providing refuge, structure, and physical safety during this period of displacement. Located in southern São Paulo, the home serves minors who arrive traumatized by abuse, street living, or fractured families. Staffed by house parents, caregivers, and social workers, Casa Elohim provides daily meals, medical and psychological attention, school enrollment, and structured routines. Beyond physical shelter, the project addresses the deeper wounds of abandonment. The work centers on family restoration: social workers engage with extended biological relatives to evaluate safe reunification possibilities, while supporting judicial processes for adoption when reunification is impossible. Until a permanent home is secured, Casa Elohim stands between vulnerable children and the perils of urban destitution, offering stability, dignity, and consistent Christian care.
Voices from the Field
"The hall where the shelter began was right next to my house. At first it seemed interesting because of the workshops, but I soon realized ABBA is different. People love what they do here; they are not forced to do it. That brings us a clear message: 'I am here because I value your life. I am invested in you.' That love makes people return and feel safe. What my own family could not provide for me, they provided — and much more than that. I used to think, 'You made so many mistakes in your life, and these people never gave up on you.' When you return like the prodigal son, they embrace you and invest in who you can become." — Alan, former ABBA shelter resident who arrived at age 12 and now serves as a project educator, São Paulo, Brazil.
Your Impact
The first CHF 3,000 of your bid sustains the Agape Collection — the craft, the platform, and the ongoing infrastructure of stewardship. Every Swiss franc beyond that threshold travels directly to Casa Elohim in São Paulo, Brazil, without administrative dilution. At a starting bid of CHF 5,000, exactly CHF 2,000 is allocated to the field on the spot, immediately funding 3 full months of residential shelter and care for a vulnerable child removed from an abusive home. Each additional CHF 650 above that starting threshold funds one more month of orphan care — immediately, measurably, irreversibly. This allocation covers round-the-clock professional caregiving, nutritional sustenance, psychological trauma therapy, pedagogical support, and legal advocacy for family reunification or adoption through the São Paulo Children's Court. By acquiring the Mordomia Ref. 01, you ensure that children experiencing the trauma of displacement receive a secure home, personal dignity, and dedicated Christian protection.
