Theological Training & Church Planting — Blantyre & Rural Malawi
Ethnos Institute
In the rural districts of Blantyre, Malawi, indigenous church planters work among communities heavily dependent on subsistence agriculture. Operating with scarce theological infrastructure, these local pastors require structured biblical training to effectively disciple new believers and anchor congregations in sound doctrine. Ethnos Institute's on-the-ground training modules directly resource these leaders, providing the foundational education necessary for long-term spiritual fruitfulness.
The Calling
Across the rural villages of Southern Africa, particularly surrounding Blantyre, Malawi, growing Christian communities face a profound deficit of theological training and pastoral resources. Pastors shepherd congregations of subsistence farmers surviving on marginal means, often without access to formal biblical instruction, commentaries, or foundational Reformed resources. Ethnos Institute engages this critical need by deploying targeted training modules, equipping native leaders to ground their congregations in orthodox doctrine, and sustaining church-planting initiatives in unreached areas. This work bridges the gap between raw zeal and enduring theological depth, establishing resilient local churches capable of withstanding severe economic and spiritual scarcity.
Voices from the Field
"We are working together with local Christian churches in Bible study and different social actions for community development, bringing the theological foundation required to sustain the church in unreached regions." — Cléber Alves, Director, Ethnos Institute / YWAM Two Seeds Malawi Partnership, 2026.
Your Impact
The first CHF 3,000 sustains the Agape Collection — the craft, the platform, the infrastructure of stewardship. Every CHF beyond that threshold travels directly to Malawi. At a starting bid of CHF 4,500, 2 units of week of pastoral training funded are funded on the spot. Each additional CHF 620 above that funds one more week of pastoral training — immediately, measurably, irreversibly.
