El llamado

Across Brazil, emerging congregations and frontier preaching stations face significant economic and geographic hurdles to sustaining full-time word-and-sacrament ministry. While historic Lutheran communities thrive in southern urban centers, developing missions in interior districts, northern states, and growing metropolitan peripheries require external support to establish pastoral leadership and maintain local worship gatherings. Through the Fundo de Apoio a Projetos da IELB (FAPI), the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brazil directs vital funding to sustain resident pastors, church planters, and congregational social ministries where local financial self-sufficiency is not yet established. Operating under confessional Lutheran theology—proclaiming Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and Scripture Alone—these missionaries catechize families, provide Word and Sacrament, and extend Christian mercy to unserved neighborhoods. Without steady supplemental provision, newly planted preaching stations cannot maintain resident pastoral care. This project secures uninterrupted support for frontier shepherds dedicated to church planting and community care across Brazil.

Voces desde el campo

In developing mission fields across Brazil, opportunities for outreach far exceed local financial resources. When the wider church stands behind a resident pastor through FAPI, congregations are able to plant deep roots, preach the Gospel faithfully, and serve families who would otherwise lack sacramental care." — Field Pastor, IELB Projetos Missionários (FAPI), Brazil (2025)
